What is the Heartbleed Vulnerability?

The Heartbleed bug is a vulnerability in certain versions of security software called Open SSL. This coding flaw has potentially exposed information on some websites, including user names and passwords.

What does Affinity Bank recommend?

While Affinity Bank was not exposed to the Heartbleed Vulnerability, it is a good idea to update and strengthen all of your passwords. Many common sites have been affected by this vulnerability. The best password is an undetectable one. Never use birth dates, first names, pet names, addresses, phone numbers, or Social Security numbers. Use a combination of letters, numbers and symbols. Be sure to change your passwords regularly.
